No Cane Variety

Description
Breeze Free flowing, dark green foliage with exquisite sprays of soft blue flowers in Spring, followed by attractive, purple berries.

Grows to approx. 60cm in height and a similar width.

Uses
Breeze Mass planting, accent plant, foliage or grassy gardens. Ideal for low water requirement gardens.

Position
Tolerates a wide range of soils and climatic requirements. Suited to full sun, as well as shady positions.

Breeze Very hardy, exhibiting excellent drought and frost tolerance.

Care
Plant in a well mulched garden. Fertilise with slow release once a year in Spring. Trim if required to remove past seasons older leaves.

To keep a tidier appearance, Breeze will need trimming as a rule after 3 to 5 years.

Frost and cold tolerant
Breeze Underground rhizomes ensure excellent cold survival. Breeze will survive in wet and cold areas in Australia, with some of the foliage browning off. In these areas the plant will perenialise.

Drought tolerant
Dianella caerulea is known as one of the most drought hardy plants available and Breeze is no different. In extreme droughts, like a 1 in 100 year drought, ocassional watering may be required.

As a rule, Breeze will require no irrigation to survive in many areas of Australia. It requires minimal irrigation in dry summer areas such as Perth.

Low maintenance
Breeze Trim approximately once every 5 to 8 years. Please note that in colder areas yearly trimming may be required.

Make landscaping a 'Breeze"
Breeze is the perfect plant for landscaping, not only is it versatile and hardy, it will produce a mass of flowers making any landscape attractive. It is also relatively quick to establish for a Dianella.

No messy canes
Unlike the common variety of Dianella caerulea, Breeze has no messy straw brown canes that often fall over.

Breeze with 'No Canes'Right: Breeze shown on the left with no canes, but common form seen on the right has untidy, messy canes.

Common Dianella caerulea is a fantastic plant for commercial and residential landscaping. The only problem is, as it gets older it becomes untidy.

Breeze solves this problem by providing a 'no cane' variety, that does not have above ground canes. Breeze is the tidy, tough ground cover plant, that is 40% larger than Little Jess.
