Revolutionary Nandina's - Blush and Flirt BLUSH Nandina domestica 'AKA' PBR
FLIRT Nandina domestica ‘MURASAKI’ PBR

By Katrina Layt

Nandinas are known for having red foliage in the winter time, but the new Nandinas Flirt and Blush do this and more. They have red new foliage colour in the warmer months which has never been seen before in other Nandinas (see comparison chart below). All of the new leaf growth is red and gives colour interest all year round, as well as a full red flush in winter.

Nandina domestica ‘BLUSH’ is 30% smaller than Nandina domestica ‘Nana’ and shoots red new growth instead of a yellow-green. This gives great contrasting effect on the plant in the warmer months with the red against the green. It grows 60-70cm x 60-70cm and is non-spreading.

Nandina domestica ‘FLIRT’ is a low growing Nandina that spreads with age. This groundcover grows to 30-40cm tall x 20-40cm spread and has red foliage that creates a waterfall effect over the green and shoots red in the summer.
