Savanna Blue - Stunning blue foliage

This small Lomandra has been on the scene for a little while now but it is certainly quite underated. It has striking blue upright foliage which creates superb colour and texture contrast throughout the garden.

Savanna Blue has stunning form and foliage, growing to a compact size of 30cm in height and 30cm in width. Savanna Blue is a great little plant with excellent durability and drought tolerance. Its fine blue/grey foliage makes it very useful for mass plantings in garden beds and ideal for garden borders or for contrasting against darker green or red foliage plants.

Both stunning and versatile Savanna Blue is particularly useful in small gardens and courtyards as a design feature. Savanna Blue can also be planted to complement native grasses in water efficient gardens. Once established Savanna Blue can survive on little to no added irrigation but in severe drought or very dry climates additional wat erin g will improve the health and appearance of the plant.

Savanna Blue rarely ever requires trimming and is very low maintenance. Savanna Blue makes an excellent container plant or for use in feature pot plantings. It is a slower growing form of Lomandra which makes it an ideal choice for this situation, they will hold for a long tim e and just keep looking good without much care at all.

Savanna Blue can create a really effective drought tough groundcover when planted at 20-30cm spacings, combine this with its low maintenance uniformity and colour contrast it gives you many options in the garden or the landscape.

Savanna Blue is suitable for a wide variety of soil conditions and as well as having excellent drought tolerance it has very good cold and frost tolerance. Areas that suit Savanna Blue include Tasmania , WA, SA, VIC and most parts of NSW. It is suitable for South East QLD if planted in the cooler months in sheltered or partly shaded positions in a well drained raised soil.
