Little Rev™

Dianella revoluta 'DR5000' PVR

By Nathan Dutschke

Dianella Little Rev is a unique, upright form of flax lily that will provide architectural interest to any landscape.

It is an improved compact, blue clump forming plant which will grow 30-40cm tall by 30-40cm wide. This height makes it ideal for roadsides, median strips, roundabouts, car parks, golf courses and ornamental garden plantings. This is a very hardy plant that will require little maintenance and water requirements once established. It can also be used for patio pot plants, planter boxes and it is a good understory plant.

After visiting many sites around Australia we have found that Little Rev has performed brilliantly over many low care environments and is very popular for many landscape applications. Little Rev will provide Landscape Architects, Designers, and Landscapers a plant that is stunning in appearance, has great architectural upright foliage with excellent colour contrast.

Little Rev will grow well in full sun and moderately shaded positions. It can tolerate a wide range of soils from sand through to heavier clay. It performs very well in coastal areas and tolerates windy and salt laden positions. Little Rev is good for hot, dry climates and can also tolerate mild frost cold areas. It is best to avoid areas that will get prolonged wet feet, such as gullies and depressions. Trimming is rarely required, but if needed, trim using a sharp implement to 12cm above the ground.

Next time you are looking for a drought tolerant ornamental grass look no further than Little Rev; you will not be disappointed.
