Katrinus - Lomandra Longifolia

Fine Slightly Weeping Green Leaves

Katrinus Katrinus is suited to most soil types including heavy clay soils and has a slightly weeping fine green leaf.

It is ideal for mass planting in garden beds and borders, ideal for roadsides because it will tolerate windy, exposed positions.

It is extremely drought tolerant and has excellent frost tolerance, staying evergreen in most areas of Australia.

Katrinus Katrinus was bred from a variety of Lomandra that naturally occurred in heavy soils. Katrinus was selected for its slightly finer leaf, short size and dark green colour.

Katrinus, like its larger parent has the ability to cope with most Australian climatic conditions, including humidity, high temperatures, drought, and cold winter frosts. Katrinus has often been used in harsh roadside conditions, with excellent results.

Position
Katrinus Grows well in full sun to shaded positions. Performs well in heavy clay or free draining soils.

Katinus is resistant to root rot, and grows well in heavy or clay soils. As it is difficult to know what soil any particular common form of Lomandra longilofia prefers, it is hard to know if it will be prone to root rot in heavy soils. Many roadside plantings are planted in heavy soils.
