Aranda™ Dianella caerulea ‘DC150’
- Tidy border plant with clean foliage
- Slightly arching deep green foliage
- Cane-less Dianella
Description: Aranda™ Dianella is a compact, dwarf form with very tight rhizome growth and a small spread, which makes it uniform and neat in the landscape. It has beautifully smooth, deep green semi-gloss foliage with deep blue flowers appearing in spring and summer just above the foliage.
Size: 30cm high x 35cm wide.
Planting Density: 6–12 plants per m², 3–6 plants per linear metre.
Uses: Tidy border plant and mass plantings
Position: Full sun to 70% shade. Tolerates frost, drought and humidity. Aranda™ Dianella tolerates sandy loam to free draining clay soils. Avoid very poor soils. Grows well in coastal and inland climates. Has shown frost hardiness to -5°C with only slight leaf discolouration.
Care: Water as required for 8-13 weeks until established. Plant in a well mulched garden (chunky mulch is recommended). Ensure crown or base of plant is not below soil or mulch level. If required use slow release fertiliser in spring. Every 3-5 years cut back half the height (will look better with pruning every 3 years, this depends on your requirements).
Where it works: NSW, ACT, VIC, TAS, SA, WA & QLD
