Most wildflowers are lucky to live a couple of years, but Aussie Reflection™ Chrysocephalum is a complete game-changer. Unlike most yellow buttons, this variety uses stolons and rhizomes to cover more ground and add survival redundancy.

Because of this spreading nature with additional root mass, it’s much more likely to bounce back after drought and frost than most forms. It’s a native wildflower that can survive more than four or five years through tough conditions on the east coast, which is very unusual as most live fast and die young.

Size: 200mm H foliage, 350mmm H flowers. 500+mm W.
Planting Density: 3-6 per sq m or 4 per linear metre.
Uses: Native ground cover, biodiversity support, retaining walls, containers, low line-of-sight areas, green roofs, grassy meadows.

Position: Full sun to light shade. Tolerant of heat, frost and drought. Will bounce back from periodic heavy rain,but avoid sustained wet feet.
Care: Reshoots from suckers after harsh times like heavy frost and drought. Prune dead stems back as new shoots emerge, and tip prune once most flowers are spent from mid spring to late summer to encourage another flush. As with other yellow buttons, fungal pathogens can be a problem in humid areas that experience prolonged wet. Fungicide can be used as a last resort within an IPM plan.
