Banksia is a true Australian icon, yet most varieties are too large and spreading for tight or narrow spaces.

Narrow Nugget™ Banksia provides the perfect solution, being not only relatively low-growing but also exceptionally narrow in form. In favourable conditions it can reach up to 1.5 metres high, but more often remains compact, and with light pruning will stay around 1 metre tall. This makes it an excellent choice as a small, narrow shrub or screening plant to define spaces or cover fences.

Size: 1000–1500 mm H × 500–750 mm W.
Planting Density: 2–3 plants per linear metre, or 1 plant every 1–5 metres when mixed with other species.
Uses: With its narrow width and compact size, this variety is ideal for tight or restricted spaces where larger shrubs will not fit. It is easier to grow and propagate than many other Banksias, making it a reliable choice for a wide range of gardens. Well suited as a small screen, border, or garden-defining plant, it offers both structure and seasonal colour in the landscape.
Species: Banksia spinulosa
Position: Best grown in full sun to light shade. Tolerates coastal winds through to dry inland conditions.
Care: For best results, always use a native fertiliser that is low in phosphorus. Prune every few years as required, particularly when used for screening, although it can also be left to grow naturally. Water well during establishment to encourage strong growth.

Flowers: Long flowering for much of the year, providing valuable nectar for pollinators, particularly during the cooler months.
