Description: Ozbreed Red Rover™ Callistemon is a ground cover Callistemon with a unique foliage for year-round interest.
It has a unique leaf shape that really makes a statement, and its stunning red new growth is a definite highlight of this Callistemon.
The Red Rover™ plant does not produce any flowers, meaning that it is an excellent choice for sites where bees and pollen allergies are to be avoided.
Size: 30-40cm high x 1.5m wide.
Planting Density: 1-2 plants per m², 1-2 plants per linear metre.
Uses: Ground cover for landscaping/ornamental use; suitable for sites where bees and pollen allergies are to be avoided.
Position: Full sun to part shade. Tolerates frost and drought. Most soil types; in humid climates like Brisbane, avoid heavy soils.
Care: Water for 8–13 weeks as required until established; prune to shape if required; fertilise annually with slow release fertiliser; watch out for Webbing Caterpillar in establishment period.
Where it works: NSW, VIC, SA & South QLD (best suited to non humid regions like Toowoomba).
