Description

The Inoculo Soil pH Test Kit is a quality pH test kit developed by the CSIRO. Cheap electronic pH testers do not work, unless you buy an expensive one for around $400. The cheap ones are highly unreliable. This is why we only sell the chemical testing kit. The Inoculo Test Kit was developed by the CSIRO and is Australian made.

Analysing your soil’s pH is very important. If it is outside the range of 5.5 to 7, you plants and lawn will not take in nutrients efficiently. This kit is very easy to use, and much more accurate than the cheap digital readers.

If your soil is acidic, you can increase its pH with a Lime product like Yates Garden Lime. If your soil is alkaline, you can decrease the pH with Iron Sulphate. Organic matter such as compost and manure will also decrease the pH of soils, as well as pine needles, pine sawdust and acid peat.

Instructions for Use

Mix the soil sample with the purposely formulated universal pH indicator and dust with the white barium sulphate powder. The subsequent colour of the powder is equated to the colour chart to find the pH of the soil. In one minute you can calculate the pH of your soil to within half a pH unit, which is accurate enough for horticultural use. If you find that your soil is acidic, you can increase its pH with Yates Garden Lime. If you discover that your soil is alkaline, you can decrease the pH with Iron Sulphate. Organic matter such as compost and manure will also decrease the pH of soils, as well as pine needles, pine sawdust and acid peat.
