Grevillea and Callistemon
Photinia and Murraya
The Murraya is a member of the citrus family and the resemblance can easily be seen in its sweet smelling flowers, delicate white flowers, and glossy dark green leaves. It’s ideal for privacy hedging and shelter plantings thanks to its dense growth habit. Murraya works beautifully as a specimen shrub too.
The name Photinias owes its origin to the Greek ‘photeinos’ or ‘shiny’ in English —an apt description of its typically glossy leaves. Its size as a small tree, rapid and dense growth, and colourful foliage make it a perfect choice for creating a hedge or screen for privacy in your backyard.
