Jazmini™ Trachelospermum

Trachelospermum jasminoides ‘TJ01’ PBR Intended Trade Name Jazmini™

  • Compact, tidy growth habit
  • Up to one-third less pruning
  • Masses of fragrant white flowers
  • Excellent in sun and shade

Description: Jazmini™ Trachelospermum Star Jasmine is a compact, low-maintenance form of the popular Star Jasmine, bred to provide the same fragrant white flowers with a much tidier growth habit. Its shorter internodes, smaller leaves and naturally dense branching mean it requires up to one-third of the pruning needed by common forms while maintaining excellent coverage.

Whether grown as a climber, groundcover or feature plant, Jazmini™ Trachelospermum delivers abundant flowering and year-round evergreen foliage, making it ideal for fences, courtyards, planter boxes, small gardens and sensory landscapes. It performs exceptionally well in both sunny and shaded positions, making it one of the most versatile Star Jasmine selections available.

  • Size: As a climber: approximately 2 m high × 500 mm wide (with support).
As a groundcover: approximately 400 mm high × 800 mm wide, forming a dense, weed-suppressing mat.
  • Planting Density: 3 plants per linear metre for climbing applications.
4–6 plants per m² for rapid groundcover establishment.
  • Uses: Ideal as a climber, groundcover, living screen, fence cover, courtyard plant, planter box feature and fragrant sensory garden plant. Its compact habit also makes it perfect for small gardens and narrow spaces where traditional Star Jasmine can become difficult to manage.
  • Position: Thrives in full sun to moderately heavy shade, making it suitable for a wide variety of landscape situations.
  • Care: Water regularly during establishment. Once established, only light pruning is required to maintain a tidy shape and encourage bushier growth. When used as a climber, weaving stems horizontally will encourage more lateral shoots, creating a denser screen. Plant in well-drained soil for best performance.
  • Where it works: Suitable for QLD, NSW, VIC, TAS, SA and WA. Performs well in humid climates and tolerates both full sun and moderately heavy shade.
  • Flowers: Produces masses of fragrant white, star-shaped flowers throughout the warmer months, with peak flowering from late spring to summer. The highly scented blooms attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators while adding seasonal colour and fragrance to the garden.
